SARAH MURPHREE

Meet Sarah 

Sarah is a writer, actress, and mental health advocate from Nashville, TN. She graduated 

Summa cum laude from The University of Tennessee in Knoxville with a BA in journalism and a double minor in theatre and screenwriting.

As an actress, Sarah is classically trained, studying under Sara Mornel. She has also worked extensively in the world of comedy, training at UCB, booking 20+ national commercials and spokesperson roles, and was voted "Best Rising Stand Up" at The Comedy Store (2018) for her comical stories about being a former clown for a living. She has booked roles on Nashville, Deadly Sins, and My Crazy Ex, but is best known for her role as Pam Dawber in the Robin Williams screen-test that went viral (12 million views), playing Snow White on the YouTube webseries sensation Cinderella's Castle (1 million views), and was the girl in Fall Out Boy’s Music Video of The Year “Uma" (62 million views). 

 

As a writer, Sarah got her start working as a photojournalist for mission organizations in third world countries. In 2015, she won First Place for her original screenplay at the Take One Film Contest at The Nashville Film Festival, and the following year was 1 of 20 writers chosen for publication in the book Time Of The Month: Funny Female Storytelling by Melanie Vare. She is now in preparation to publish her first narrative nonfiction book, I Am Human Too, about the 1.5 years she spent with the homeless community to better understand mental health.

As a mental health advocate, Sarah is the daughter of a mother with a mental health condition and advocates as a peer educator with the mental health awareness program End the Silence, where she has spoken to crowds of 400+, is a member of The National  Alliance of Mental Illness (NAMI), and creator of Funny People Cry Too, a sold-out storytelling show where naturally funny people tell stories about their mental health.
